António Almeida holds a Ph.D. in Economics and Business Sciences (equivalent degree) from Universidade dos Açores, with an aggregation in Economics from Universidade dos Açores, and a Ph.D. from CURDS (Centre for Urban and Regional Development Studies) at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. António Almeida is a member of CEEAplA (Centro de Estudos de Economia Aplicada do Atlântico).
