Nuno Almeida is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Architecture, and Georesources of the University of Lisbon (IST) and a member of the Civil Engineering Research and Innovation for Sustainability (CERIS) research unit. His entrepreneurial, professional, research, and academic activities are focused on protecting and deriving value from engineering assets through the assimilation of innovative management and technological solutions for critical infrastructure, buildings and advanced industrial facilities of both the public and private sectors, towards more resilient cities and societies. Nuno has published more than 100 refereed journal and conference papers on these topics. He has advised transdisciplinary research and consultancy projects in the construction, real estate, water, energy, rail, and road sectors. He is the head of the Portuguese delegation in the ISO/TC251 Asset Management standardization committee and is a member of the International Society of Engineering Asset Management.
