Ricardo Pinto holds a PhD in Management (Accounting specialisation) from ISCTE-IUL and a postgraduate degree in Finance from Catholic University in partnership with ESADE.
He is a Guest Assistant Professor at the University of Madeira, where he teaches Accounting I (undergraduate degrees in Management and Economics), Accounting II (undergraduate degree in Economics) and Notions of Accounting and Financial Analysis (undergraduate degree in Communication, Culture and Organisations and undergraduate degree in Languages and Public Relations). In addition, he teaches Financial Analysis, Investment Analysis and Notions of Accounting (undergraduate degree in Hospitality Management) at the Higher School of Technologies and Management.
Previously, he taught at the postgraduate level, Planning, Budgeting and Control at the University of Madeira, in partnership with ISCTE-IUL. He also helped to support the students’ internship implementation and control of the Accounting and Taxation Professional Technical course of the Higher School of Technologies and Management.
He is a Certified Public Auditor, and his business experience is mostly focused on financial auditing in the industrial and service sectors. He is also a member of the Portuguese Accounting Association.
He is ambassador of the professional association of accounting researchers “Grudis – Accounting Research Network”. He is interested in research that addresses Sustainability or Innovation in the Accounting context. In addition, his interests also include Accounting Education research.
