Yasmine Challouf is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Madeira, focusing on sustainable production of the red colorant E120, aiming to establish the first company in Europe to produce this product from raw material to final product in an eco-friendly way. Challouf holds an engineering degree in Biotechnology from the Free University of Tunis and two master’s degrees: one in Biotechnology and another in Product and Process Innovation, both from the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança. She is the founder and CEO of Portisia, a Portuguese company dedicated to assisting international students in pursuing higher education in Portugal and fostering knowledge exchange. Challouf is also the recipient of multiple prestigious funding awards, including the IAPMEI Startup Voucher and Startup Zero.
